Cherokee construction differs from the competition . All other wood build trailers are made like a house , 16" on center studs. Not the Cherokee, We increased the strength by building the Cherokee with 12" on center .
The line of Cherokee trailers is built to withstand the twists and turns on the road. Cherokee adds hurricane straps to prevent the studs from popping out of the frame when driving on rough roads.
Another great feature, and we believe is the most important one is WATER DAMAGED FLOOR . When the floor soaks water it becomes soft. All manufacturers cover the bottom of the trailer with DARCO membrane and stop at the side edge of the 5/8" floor leaving the side of that floor exposed to moisture. Not Cherokee though. Cherokee wraps the all the way over the edge and well on the top side of the insulated floor. If water is to come in the Cherokee, it settle on the bottom the wood floor would be safe.
